Sanford's Khallid Hart is this week's WDEL Male High School Athlete of the Week.

Khallid scored 19 points in the Warriors 58-50 triumph over Newark in the State Championship game Saturday, Sanford's unprecedented 3rd straight state title.

I asked Khallid to describe the feeling.

"Unbelieveable. To win one is great, to win is almost unheard of, and to win three is definitely unheard of. We got it done, and I love my team for that."

Khallid has played a big part on all three title teams, but what has been the biggest change in his role over the 3 years?

"This year I definitely think I stepped up to the role of lead point guard, and being able to run the team and keep everyone in shape."

Khallid will be a part of the Blue/Gold All-Star Game Saturday at the Bob Carpenter Center which you can hear on WDEL, and will be his last high school game.

"I won't be putting on the Sanford jersey, but it's my last time playing in Delaware in front of the people who love and care for me, so I just want to go out there and have fun."

Khallid says he's still deciding between Division 1 schools to play basketball next season, but says he's interested in business or finance as a future.

"Once I talked to my algebra teacher she told me that business would be a good subject to get into, it brings all the money in. So I said 'yeah, I'll take it up."
