Video Profile of Adrianna Hahn
Ursuline Academy 8th grader Adrianna Hahn is this week's WDEL High School Athlete of the Week.
Adrianna averaged 12.5 points in basketball victories over Padua and Chester (Pa.) last week.
Ursuline has a proud tradition of 8th graders excelling at the varsity level including University of Delaware star Elena Delle Donne, how does Hahn feel about playing against players as much as 4 years older?
"It's more of a challenge than my age group is. I like it a lot because it challenges me and it makes me better. I like all of them, they’re all great."
11-1 Ursuline has an experienced group that have played together for a few years. How did the relatively young Hahn fit in so quickly?
"We did a lot of traveling together to different games and different gyms and it made me more accustomed to them. I just see them every day because this is a small school so I got very good with them. They’re very friendly and they’re some of my best friends now."
On the court Hahn excels offensively, but what part of Adrianna/'s game does she like the most?
"Playing defense, because you’re right in the girl's face when you’re guarding your player with the ball. You want to pick that player and get the ball, it's all on you."
Adrianna says she took to hoops at a very young age.
"I started playing basketball when I was two or three. I started to pick up a ball and play with it and work with it. Throughout every summer and season I just work on my game."
