The person who hit the shot, Sanford's Deon Jones, is this week's WDEL High School Athlete of the Week.
3 days later and Deon says he is still amazed with what happened.
"I still can't believe that it happened. It was the last shot of my career and I went out on top. It feels real great."
So what happened in that timeout huddle with 4.4 seconds left that set up the game-winning dramatics.
"We're just thinking to try to get the best shot that we can. When we came out of the huddle I told Trevor if you're going to the corner they're probably going to trap you so I'll be open. So I threw it to him and that's exactly what happened, and it freed me up, and I hit my shot."
Sanford became just the sixth team to win back-to-back state championships, what made the Warriors so tough?
"Everybody's clicking on this team. Everyone knows their roles. We have a few players who can score big time. In that game everybody clicked and rebounded well, played defense well, and got to hit their shots. We just all worked together really well."
So now that Deon hit the biggest shot of his basketball career, to date, what is next for the Senior?
"I'm just trying to figure out what school I'm going to and then go from there. Hopefully it's a pretty good basketball school that can get me to the next level."
