Archmere Academy volleyball player Patreece Spence is this week's WDEL Female High School Athlete of the Week.
Patreece had 21 kills in Archmere's 3-1 victory over Ursuline, one of 4 wins for the undefeated Auks last week.
She says the Auks' supports help her get through the big matches.
"I usually get nervous before the game starts, but with the fans that we have and everyone coming out that it's exciting."
Patreece is relatively small for a hitter at 5-foot-six, but says she she works hard for an acceptable spike.
"It's hard to please for myself. I'm not really satisfied when it's okay. But when I get a really good one I'm really excited, and I think everyone else is too."
Playing club volleyball Patreece says she's gotten to travel the country, what was her favorite place?
"I like Minneapolis because of the Mall of America. It was a lot of fun, the people there were really nice."
As for life after Archmere, Patreece says she isn't sure where she wants to go to school, but is considering a career in health or journalism.
"I like writing a lot. I could see myself editing, and those kinds of things."
