VIDEO: Interview with Ian Gory
Dover High School quarterback Ian Gory is this week's WDEL Male High School Athlete of the Week.

Ian threw two touchdowns in the Senators' 14-6 victory over cross-town rival Caesar Rodney, a win that meant a lot for Dover.

"It's a huge game for us, we knew if we won the game we'd definitely be in. We took them very seriously."

Before the CR game, Dover had the unique chance to play against Martinsburg High School, a West Virginia powerhouse. The Senators lost, but welcomed the chance to represent Delaware.

"I was really excited, I wasn't too nervous. I tried to make it like any other game."

I asked Ian to describe what he feels makes an effective quarterback.

"Leadership. Guys like (Tim) Tebow. I'm not the most athletic guy, so I have to use my arm. Guys that are passing quarterbacks (I keep my eye on)."

Ian is just a junior, so he says he doesn't have specific schools in mind yet, but says he thinks he would excel at engineering.
