Middletown wide receiver Chris Godwin is this week's WDEL Male High School Athlete of the Week.
Godwin returned a Newark punt 60 yards for a touchdown with his team down 16-0, spurring a comeback in the Cavs' 27-23 state championship victory.
Chris says he got some help in making the momentum changing play.
"I just made one move, I bounced it outside. From there my teammates helped me get it to the end zone."
The Cavs lead in the state championship game to St. Mark's last year before the Spartans rallied for the win, what did it feel like Chris when the clocks reached triple zeros with the lead.
"It was very relieving. We had worked really hard since January to prepare ourselves for that game."
Chris is part of a dynamic duo with fellow sophomore quarterback Darius Wade. What does he think makes them such a strong combination?
"We're friends outside of school off the football field. I feel like that comradery is very good. We're very close, and it helps on the football field."
While still 2 years away from graduating, Chris thinks he would like to get into accounting, or sports management.
"I want to be around sports for most of my life. If I'm not playing sports, I might as well be doing sports management so I can be around it."
