Delaware Military Academy softball pitcher Megan Thompson is this week's WDEL Female High School Athlete of the Week.
Megan has thrown 2 perfect games while pitching to a 12-3 record so far this year for the Seahawks.
The ace says she can tell early whether she's going to have a really good game in the circle.
"Usually when I’m warming up I know what is working best and what isn't. If in the game they are hitting what I thought was working best we'll change it up."
As for the perfect games, Megan is quick to credit her teammates for their help.
"The most important thing is probably trusting your fielders. Knowing that anywhere you put the ball they can field it. Of course you also can't win a game without runs."
The Seahawks' 12 wins are already 2 more than a year ago, and Megan says her team's experience and coaching are big reasons for the improvement.
"A better look at the game, and being explained things in a different way. Also the confidence we have this year is a lot higher than ever before."
While just a junior Megan says she's interested in studying to become a sports journalist in college.
"I think it's exciting! I love sports and I love writing, so all being combined into one is great."
