Interview with Larenz Thurman
Wilmington Friends Basketball's Larenz Thurman is this week's WDEL Male High School Athlete of the week.
The junior point guard scored 41 points in two games last week, and though he might not be a senior, Thurman wants to be a leader to help keep the Quakers rolling after a 6-1 start.
Thurman scored 22 points in last week's loss to St. Elizabeth--the Quakers' first loss of the season, but he says a strong passing game will help get the team back to winning.
When he's not on the court, one of the biggest challenges to being a student athlete is keeping up with classes, he says.
Thurman says the top-ten ranked Quakers have their eyes set on competing for a championship--but there's still work that needs to be done to reach that goal.
