VIDEO: Interview with Cape Henlopen's Kat Judge
Cape Henlopen forward Kat Judge is this week's M&T Bank / WDEL High School Athlete of the Week.
Judge scored two goals and assisted on a third in the Vikings' 18-6 victory over Charter of Wilmington for their 6th straight girls lacrosse title.
Kat says winning never gets old to her.
"There's no greater feeling. I've been able to win every year that I've been in high school, but this one means the most."
Cape Henlopen found themselves down 3-0 early, but Kat Judge says they had the poise to overcome the 1st half challenge.
"This game, we knew that if we could get the ball and we could get good shots and be patient, we would be fine. And that's what happened after the first few minutes."
Kat, who will play lacrosse at Winthrop next season, says playing lacrosse has been in her blood basically since birth.
"I've been playing since I was little. My dad played, all of my friends played. I started playing since I could walk basically."
The best praise of Kat Judge's ability may come from Cape Head Coach P.J. Kesmodel.
"She is all over the field making plays, and half of the time it doesn't show up in the stat sheet. As far as I'm concerned, she's our MVP for sure."
