One of the more attractive recent U.S. stamps: The $4.90 Mackinac Bridge issue
Despite its financial woes (First quarter fiscal year loss ending December 31st, 2009: $297 Billion), the U.S. Postal Service still puts out some rather handsome postage stamps.
One recent standout issue many people won't see because of its rather high face-value ($4.90 for Priority Mail): The Mackinac Bridge stamp, which came out February 3rd.
With its rather unique angle and colors, I think this issue really stands out...
Whether over the Delaware, Mississippi, Ohio, or Missouri Rivers, I've crossed many bridges in my life.
But I think this 5-mile-long Mackinac Bridge uniting lower and upper Michigan - and the 8-mile-long Confederation bridge joining New Brunswick with Prince Edward Island - are the most spectacular and memorable bridges I've crossed.
