From Foreign Policy: "Obama Can't Get No Respect"

Aaron David Miller, onetime adviser to six U.S. secretaries of state of both political parties on Israeli/Palestinian negotiations (and a frequent guest on my news hours) offers this provocative piece in FOREIGN POLICY on line: "Obama Can't Get No Respect"...

Every one of the references in that article, was of the Middle East. (Putin was in response to Syria).... The anti Americanism from Islamists is nothing new. In fact it has been in force since the '69 war. (That war ended with the occupation of pieces of land owned by 4 separate Arab countries.)

If you can remember, it was only after we invaded Iraq and took out the world's fourth largest army in less than ten days, that the rest of the Arab world decided we were worth being on their good side....

Those leaders from then are all gone.

Part of the rebuffs mentioned in this article could be because we lately have been asking the impossible and realistically are being told no...

In order to get respect, you have to be respectable in the first place!

Also, most of the foreign policy things Obama is dealing with are leftovers from the Bush Jr. years. As I recall world opinion of our handling of foreign issues have improved since Obama became Prez vs Bush Jr's term.

I give Obama credit as he's more willing to discuss and listen to what other nation's are saying and trying to work with them, whereas Little Bush put on his stetson and did his best John Wayne imitation to tell the world what's going to be done like he were emperor of the world not just the US Prez and seemed to make more enemies than make friends. (I really like John Wayne movies by the way and admired the real John Wayne who was a great American). Bush was all hat and no cattle.

So Obama is working to end the various wars and bring our troops home. He's made mistakes to be sure, especially with his handling of Israel, but he's better than Bush Jr.

Yep. Everything is Bush's fault!

So, let's have four more years of "kum-bay-yah" with the Iranian "president" and other thugs that want to blow us up.
