Secretary of State Clinton testifying on Benghazi attacks

Critics of the Administration have been salivating over this possibility for months:

The chance to hear now outgoing Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton testify before Congress on the State Department's handling of the Benghazi tragedy.

Update: It's pretty apparent Secretary Clinton has not satisfied the Administration's critics.

Updates from the BBC News website...

Ponder this piece from NATIONAL JOURNAL's Matthew Cooper...

It would be another great time for Hillary to have a 'fainting' spell. If she feigns fainting, she gets out of the testimony...again.

I sincerely doubt Hillary Clinton's testimony today will add any new or real information about what really happened in Benghazi on 9-11. My guess is that she "won't remember" nor "recall" what happened...much like her testimony during TravelGate many years ago.

If they really want to know the truth then they should interview those who were in the consulate during the attack in Benghazi but escaped/survived.

Earl Grey---

Check out the new article to which I linked (above). From NATIONAL JOURNAL:

The Secretary of State testifies this week, but because of years of taking hits and careful damage control, she'll leave unscathed...

I agree...Hillary will not be "brought down" by Benghazi.

I wonder if we will ever know why Stevens was really there and who denied air support for those left behind during the attacks.

Breaking news: The Pentagon is ready to announce the lifting of restrictions for women to serve in combat.

In Benghazi, there is nothing that hasn't been explained in person, in the press, or anywhere on the web. Benghazi is old news.

This is a wasted hearing. The original was to be prior to the election. Now, with Romney beaten and the Republican Party in complete retreat, all this hearing does is make the Republicans look even sillier for wasting everyone's time. Heaven help America if these Republican incompetents ever do get a hold of power. We should be grateful that America has plenty of alternatives to cranky old white people.

Yep. Never mind that the original explanation for Benghazi was about some movie that nobody ever heard of. If this was a Republican administration, the Democrats would be calling for their heads on a silver platter.

But then, what else is new?

Not so. Your memory appears deceived. Millions in Arab nations knew about that movie. There were riots in almost every country simultaneous with the Benghazi raid.

This silliness of the inane Republicans minority, who are there now illegitimately I should add, is simply being put out there to draw attention to themselves. They don't care about dead soldiers. Republicans have never cared about loss of military lives. When the bodies come back, they go play golf. I'm sure teatime will agree that this is the predominant Republican sentiment... "What, they won't sell us oil? Let's invade." Again, Republicans are the worst people to intervene in a foreign country; then lose an election; and then force the Democrats to clean-up their mess. But that should be expected; one must have an IQ below 100 to join the Republican Party.

Anyways, these inane arguments made up by Republicans just to get some TV time, finally got shot-down by Hillary to where they belong, the rubbish heap... She shut-down and totally embarrassed Rand Paul, who will now go nowhere in 2016. Hillary owned him, and will, every time that clip gets played.

In fact, as Mike's timeline above will attest, Leon Panetta was so impressed with Hillary's skilled take down of the Republican buffoons, he immediately thereafter lifted the ban on women in combat....

"...she 'won't remember' nor 'recall' what happened..." much like Pres Reagan in his Iran/Contra testimony many more years ago. Still waiting for the answers there...

kavips...just curious, are you now personally responsible for all newspeak drivel and propaganda? You seem to demonize both the "old" news and "new" news...please tell us where we should be getting our news? The NewsJournal?...now that's funny :D

Wrong. The Republicans are not a minority. They are a majority in the most important branch of government. They just need to step up and act like it.

glass1/2full: The Iran/Contra affair was a result of Congress cutting-off funding for the Contras, so Reagan went elsewhere to get the money which Ccongress just didn't like it because they couldn't control him. Whether Reagan knew or didn't know, it was none of Congress's business in the first place.
