Irony of Boston: That city is a hub for explosives prevention

Alec MacGillis at The NEW REPUBLIC notes Boston has been a hub for research into explosives detection, and one of the main research centers in Boston was closed Monday for Patriot Day, like many other institutions...

Meanwhile, Matthew Cooper at NATIONAL JOURNAL notes the dilemma for the White House when the perpetrators and motive for the carnage remain shrouded in mystery...

In another development, FOX has yanked an episode of the cartoon, "Family Guy", from Fox.com and Hulu.com.

The episode, first telecast March 17th, had the show's main character, Peter Griffin, reminiscing about winning the Boston Marathon by mowing down runners in a car. Also, Griffin unwittingly assists terrorists plotting to blow up a bridge.

Some users of social media edited the clips in such a way that the "Family Guy" episode seems to have predicted - or influenced - the Boston Marathon bombings.

I think we can safely conclude that this is not the work of Al Qaeda or some organized terror group, which would've proclaimed "credit" for the bombings by now.

This is probably the work of a lone wolf, a single deranged individual.

AllanLoudell: Just so you know, your "hub" pun did not go unnoticed.
