V.P. Joe Biden: "Son had successful procedure, will return home"... NBC News: "Beau Biden has mass in brain"

State Attorney General Beau Biden's medical condition remains Delaware's top story.

Late word from Vice President Biden that his son underwent a "successful procedure, will return home."

(The Vice President had cancelled all Thursday public appearances to be with Beau.)

Earlier, multiple sources said the 44-year-old Biden was undergoing tests at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, which U.S. NEWS & WORLD REPORT has consistently ranked as the nation's best hospital for cancer treatment.

Usually, people are evaluated at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center for particularly daunting conditions. We already know the Attorney General was evaluated at hospitals in Chicago and Philadelphia. That raises this question: Was Beau Biden being evaluated at M.D. Anderson primarily as a precaution (and it doesn't hurt to be the son of the Vice President of the United States), or does he really have chronic, complicated issues?

(CBS News Chief White House correspondent Major Garrett says the fact that the Vice President has remained with his son underscores the seriousness of Beau Biden's situation.)

You can hear my interview Wednesday with CBS News Chief White House correspondent Major Garrett...

NBC News is reporting Beau Biden has a mass in his brain.

Here's how NBC News reported the story last night...

Prayers go out. And the hope that just as genetics may cause the problems to be hereditary, so may the also work in the survivability factor. Like Dad, like son.

I can't believe everybody does all this praying. According to your own dogma, god not only knows he's got cancer; he's known about it since before the beginning of time and he's always known the outcome. So, what's the point? It's a done deal. The fix has always been in. "What will be, will be" - Doris Day.

But I suppose this is part of the same national, media-induced bathos that has people putting flowers on sidewalks after somebody gets shot, or on roadsides after an accident. Besides, I doubt any of you know this guy personally anyway.

For those of us who worship the Risen Christ, we can pray for healing for Beau [be it by "normal" means of doctors or miraculous means by God - actually God has a hand in both methods as he designed the laws of physics and science, etc.]. Also we should pray for courage, comfort, and peace for his family. This must be a very scary thing to be going through for Beau and Family.

Hey Bill, what do you care? You render yourself more irrelevant every time you post on this blog.

MikeFromDelaware: So you are saying that god just lets people die unless enough prayers come in. Enough prayers and he changes his mind. Maybe. Sounds like the purpose of illness, accidents and disasters is to get people praying - actually begging. God gets off on people begging. That meets the clinical definition of sadism.
