Law firm retained by Governor Christie at NJ taxpayers' expense clears Christie of wrongdoing
The case of the Malaysian airliner; the Ukraine/Crimea crisis; that summit in The Hague; and the Washington state mudslide buried this story, but for those of you following New Jersey's "bridgegate" scandal:
Word leaked out Monday that the law firm of Gibson Dunn & Crutcher - retained by Governor Christie at taxpayers' expense - was about to clear the governor of any wrongdoing in the George Washington Bridge scandal.
Democrats immediately struck back: The impropriety of leaks before the investigation had been formally concluded; the failure to interview three pivotal individuals who apparently have first-hand knowledge of the bridge closings; and the implication that whatever report emerges would have been tailor-made for the governor.
A senior editor at The NEW REPUBLIC notes all the apparent conflicts...
Most headlines are accurately calling it as "Gov. Christie Clears Gov. Christie of Wrongdoing..." Sounds like America's version of Idi Amin.

One distinct difference between Christie and Amin: Christie never murdered anyone. Amin murdered millions. Not even Obama can boast of that.
