Any questions for tonight's Republican state Treasurer's debate?

I'm hosting / moderating another state Treasurer's debate tonight (upstate, on 1150 A.M. WDEL & wdel.com), this time, on the Republican side. So this time, you can hear and evaluate Kenneth Simpler vs. Sher (Cheryl) Valenzuela. If the Valenzuela name seems vaguely familiar to you, she was the Republican nominee for Lieutenant Governor last time, and won a speaking slot at the Republican national convention.

Any questions for the candidates?

Of course, I'll be reframing some of the questions I asked during the Democratic debate last Monday.

There's only one question that matters. Can you win the election?

One basic question is:

What would you do differently than your Democrat opponent...in other words why do you think your plans are better?...just want to hear what the Republicans think they can do better than a Democrat in the same position and why.

In a very blue state like Delaware people need to have a real reason to consider checking off an (R) in the voting booth...they need to know the Republicans have a better plan and then communicate strongly/clearly why they can better serve Delawareans. IF there is no clear difference between the Democrat and Republican plans...Delaware will just vote in another Blue candidate.

Why does Valenzuela keep saying in her shiny mail pieces that she's going to lower taxes and government and grow jobs when the Treasurer can't do either of those?

Allan: Good broadcast. Cher is not qualified to be state treasurer; Ken Simpler is. That's the bottom line of that debate. Frankly, she sounded like Michele Bachmann & is just as obnoxious as Bachmann. Simpler gave specific examples and Cher talked around any real details, because she doesn't know. For me the choice is clear, Ken Simpler.

Looks like Chip "Rodney King" Flowers is in trouble again. The Republicans as well as Barney Fife need to seize the day!

BillW: The obvious answer is that 99% of the audience doesn't have a clue that the treasurer isn't part of the legislature.
