Encouraging artists and arts education in southern Delaware has been the goal of the Rehoboth Art League since its inception in 1938.
“Since then, the Art League has been a place where there have been a variety of different arts classes, exhibitions from our member artists because we're a member based organization, and as well as many different conversations about art and art programs here in southern Delaware.”
Sheila Bravo, Executive Director of the League says not all of the activities take place on site since outreach is an important part of its mission.
“Many of our artists go out into the community to work with children in all parts of southern Delaware. We also reach out to assisted living communities for seniors and work with them, because for many of them, art is an important part of their life but they might not be able to get out anymore. We also partner with other arts organizations in collaborative activities to promote the arts throughout the region.”
