VIDEO: Downtown birdwatching goes hitech

Thanks to a collaborative project involving government, business and non-profit groups, hi-tech is helping Wilmington bird-watchers.

For the last 10 years or so, a pair of peregrine falcons have called the 19th floor of the Brandywine Building home, although nobody can say for sure if it's been the same pair the whole time.

The nesting box, installed years ago by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service on the 11th Street side is now outfitted with a webcam. The Wilmington Peregrine Falcon Webcam Project now lets anyone with internet access take a close-up look at the pair, and whatever offspring they may hatch in the next several months, according to DuPont's Tim Ireland.

To view the falcons, go to the Delmarva Ornithological Society website or the DuPont Estuary Project website.
