      WDEL was presented with the CAPBA's highest honor for our commitment to give Delaware extensive local news coverage.

    In addition to newscasts every half-hour, WDEL provides listeners with live coverage of breaking news, local press conferences, major speeches from Delaware elected officials, plus creative feature reporting.     To honor Black History Month, WDEL’s Mellany Armstrong produced “Shaping the Future” – a 10-part series featuring unsung Delawareans who are helping young people and their communities. Mellany’s effort began by soliciting nominations from Delaware elected officials, community leaders and WDEL listeners. 10 honorees were then chosen and interviewed for the series.
