Tanning bill gets a leg up in the Senate A bill in Dover to keep kids using tanning beds in check gets unanimous approval in the Senate. If approved in the House and signed by the Governor, it would require teens between 14 and 18 to have their parents sign a consent form to tan indoors. Middletown Democratic Senator Bethany Hall Long likes the outcome and the fact that Senators didn't try to rewrite a portion of the bill requiring that kids under 14 who want to tan, have a note from a doctor. The Michelle Rigney Act, as it's called, is named for a young woman who died from skin cancer. |
