Brown tap water plaguing some Newark residents Some residents in Newark are suffering with rust colored water in their pipes. WDEL's LeAnne Matlach has more. State Representative John Kowalko says he and his neighbors on Kells Avenue between College and Wollaston Avenues have dirty brown water coming out of their taps. Kowalko says the water department told one of his neighbors not to drink the water. He says he doesn't drink it but does use it to brush his teeth. "I would like to see this resolved sooner rather than later, because really we're running out of options," he said. "We can't go do our laundry, we can't go to a laundromat. When it's clear, maybe one day it's clear, we do the laundry but it gets really overwhelming." Kowalko has been working with the water department and he says they're doing a good job but neighbors are sick of the problem. |
