VIDEO: Sanford's White - WDEL Female HS Athlete of the Week

Sanford Basketball's Anjaleace White is this week's WDEL Female High School Athlete of the Week.

The future George Washington University Colonial scored 12 points in the Warriors 43-26 victory over St. Mark's Saturday.

I asked Anjie to describe herself as a player.

"I'm an aggressive player. I'm definitely a thinker on the court, kind of like a quarterback in football. I definitely talk to my teammates and try to pump them up."

Anjie has helped lead the Warriors to two straight state championships, I asked her if one meant more than the other.

"The first time we won, because I was a sophomore and being in a position a win. And then going back junior year and going it again it was amazing. It almost feels surreal."

Winning hasn't been contained to Sanford's women's program, the men's team has gone back-to-back cutting down the nets as well. Is there any rivalry between the teams?

"We push each other. We talk about basketball all the time during study halls and in between classes, but I think it's a friendly competition at most."

Anjie says she looks at former Rutgers, and current New York Liberty, star Kia Vaughn as a role model.

"She was one of the main people that I looked at when I wanted to play basketball. She was an amazing post player and I definitely look up to her a lot."
