USDA warns of letter scam The USDA is warning you to be on the lookout for letters that have been faxed to individuals and businesses asking recipients for personal information. The agency says no letters have arrived in Delaware yet, but they have turned up in Pennsylvania and 3 other states. The letters bear the USDA logo and seal, and are signed by a Frank Rutenberg, who's identified as a Senior Procurement Officer. If you get one of the letters, don't give the information it asks for--instead, contact the USDA, which is investigating the scam through the Federal Office of the Inspector General. |
