VIDEO: New fire boat in Delaware City

"Never Forget" is the name inscribed along the side of the Delaware City fire company's new fire boat, which was christened in the water at the city's boat ramp on Sunday.

Congressman John Carney was among the guests present for the vessel's dedication ceremony. Carney spoke of the importance of the firefighters' service.

"Because we say, and we have in our programs, and we say all the time that we'll always remember and never forget the work that you do. We have people in our fire services, emergency services across the state who are at the ready for something to occur at any time of the day or night," said Congressman John Carney.

The thirty-four-foot vessel made it's debut firefighting response on April 8th in assistance to the Wilmington fire department on a fire near the Port of Wilmington.

The Delaware City Fire Company also recently celebrated its 125th anniversary.

The vessel was christened by President of the Ladies Auxiliary, Nancy Migliavacca.
