House Minority Leader Lavelle announces state Senate bid

State House Minority Leader Greg Lavelle Monday made it official--he's running for the 4th District seat in the state Senate.

The Brandywine Hundred Republican announced his bid in a teleconference with constituents.

He said he enjoys his work in the state House, and if he's elected to the Senate, he'll continue to be independent and effective, working to make government accountable to the people.

Lavelle was first elected to the House in 2000, and so far, faces no Democratic opposition.
