VIDEO: Phillies' bats come alive to snap home losing streak

Carlos Ruiz and John Mayberry each hit 2-run homers in support of a strong Cole Hamels as the Phillies snapped a 6-game home losing streak with a 7-2 win over the Rockies Tuesday night.

The Rockies jumped on Hamels in the first, with Tyler Colvin picking up an RBI single after a leadoff single and stolen base by Eric Young, Jr.

Jimmy Rollins and Placido Polanco combined for a 2-out rally in the 3rd when Rollins' walk was followed by a double into the left field corner by Polanco.

In the midst of Hamels retiring 13 straight batters between the 2nd and 6th, the Phillies took the lead in the 4th on Mayberry's 6th home run of the season. Mayberry has now gone deep in 3 straight games, and 4 out of his past 5 after hitting just 2 in the opening 2 months of the season.

Ruiz made it a 4-1 game in the 5th by plating Jimmy Rollins on a 2-out, RBI double. Rollins reached base 4 times and scored three runs.

The catcher then boosted the lead to 7-2 with his career high-tying 9th home run of the season, a 2-run shot into the flower garden in left in the 7th. That immediately followed an RBI groundout by Hunter Pence.

Ruiz went 2-for-4 with the 3 RBI, while the team combined for 4 doubles on the night.

Hamels picked up his team-leading 10th win by pitching 8 innings of 6-hit, 2-run baseball. He recorded 5 straight strikeouts to begin his second time through the Rockies lineup.

Colorado has now lost 10 of 11, while the Phillies picked up their 4th win in their last 16 games.
