Convicted felon, drug offender busted after chase Wilmington police say a convicted felon and drug offender is behind bars after leading officers on a chase in a car and on foot. Police say officers on patrol near 3rd and North Clayton Streets shortly after 2 Tuesday morning spotted a green Honda Accord running a stop sign. The cops tried to pull the car over, but the driver kept going, leading the lawmen through the Hilltop, Hedgeville and Browntown sections of the city after blowing a tire in the 100 block of Wright Street. The driver, Ronald Davis of Wilmington, then got out of the car and ran through several yards, tossing away a gun as he went. A police dog put the bite on Davis, and the dog's human colleagues found Davis was carrying 15 Oxycodone pills. Davis, who can't legally have a gun, is being held at the Howard Young Prison in lieu of bail. |
