VIDEO: Caravel lady hoopsters spoil Padua's opener Caravel guard Micah Morgan led all scorers with 21 points as the Bucs improved to 2-0 with a 70-39 home victory over Padua Monday night. The hosts turned a 10-point halftime lead into a 24-point advantage after thanks to scoring 26 points in the 3rd quarter paced by a pair of threes by Yasmin Walker and Heather Wiley. Defense and rebounding paced the Bucs, with three players grabbing at least 9 boards led by Jessica Reynolds' 12. Walker also forced 9 steals and had four assists to go with 13 points. Padua scored five of the last eight points of the opening quarter to keep the deficit at 14-7, but could get no closer than 5 the rest of the way. They were led by Junior Emma Matthews' 8 point effort, while Rachel Lisziewicz dropped 7. Caravel now has a two week break before facing off with Caesar Rodney, while Padua battles Concord on Thursday at home. |
