Anti-distracted driving crackdown nets 1800+arrests The state Office of Highway Safety says its "Phone In One Hand, Ticket In The Other" anti-distracted driving campaign is a success so far. OHS Tuesday released figures showing more than 18 hundred tickets were issued to drivers who were making calls, texting or engaging in other non-driving-related behavior while behind the wheel between November 7th and 20th. "Phone In One Hand, Ticket In The Other" is a year-long crackdown on distracted driving, which OHS says had a hand in almost 31 hundred traffic deaths and 416 thousand traffic-related injuries nationally in 2010. |
