Shooting victim charged with felony heroin possession (703 bags)

Wilmington police say the victim of a shooting was arrested after officers found him with a large load of heroin.

Officers found the victim at Wilmington Hospital after they responded to a report of a shooting near West 7th and North Clayton Streets around 9:30 PM Wednesday.

The victim, who police say is a felon with assault and drug convictions, wouldn't say who'd shot him in the lower back, and hospital constables told officers he'd tried to get rid of a plastic bag with 703 packets of heroin inside, each labeled "Gun Play."
