Wilmington police intercept cocaine shipment Wilmington police say detectives have intercepted a shipment of cocaine in transit from New York after a traffic stop in Ogletown. Police say detectives pulled over a car matching the description of a vehicle believed to be transporting cocaine after observing a traffic violation at the intersection of Route 273 and Chapman Road around 7:45 p.m. Monday night. After getting permission to search the car from the driver, Bronx resident Rafael Alvarez-Lopez, police say they found 93 grams of powder cocaine in the trunk of the car valued around $9,500. Alvarez-Lopez faces drug possession charges and a traffic violation. He's been admitted to the Howard Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $20,001 secured bond. |
