Carra shoots out of slump in Blue Hens' win
Lauren Carra scored 20 points to break out of a scoring slump and boost Delaware to a 76-51 victory on the road at Northeastern Tuesday night.
The senior, who had scored just 20 points total in her last 4 games, hit back-to-back three-pointers early in the first half to give the Hens a 12-6 advantage.
Northeastern (9-6, 2-2 CAA) eventually cut the deficit to 28-24, but the Hens responded with a 16-5 half-ending run to lead 44-29 at intermission. Delaware shot 6-of-7 from three-point range in the opening half.
Delaware (12-3, 3-0 CAA) eventually extended the lead up to 27 points before cruising to their second straight road win after defeating Old Dominion Sunday in Norfolk.
Ellena Delle Donne finished with 19 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 blocks, while Jaquetta May added 12 points and Danielle Parker dropped 11 for the Blue Hens. Delaware outrebounded Northeastern 48-28.
Deanna Kerkhof led Northeastern with 16 points.
Delaware is off until Sunday, when they return to the Bob Carpenter Center for a 2pm date with Towson.
