Smyrna man attacked at home

State Police say a home invasion in Smyrna was not a random act, but the victim was likely targeted by the two suspects who robbed and assaulted him.

A 38-year-old male answered the door of his home on the first block of Hedgerow Hollow Road around 11:40 Friday night where the first suspect was waiting. The stranger told a lie about his car sliding into the victim's car, causing damage.

When the homeowner went outside to investigate, he was confronted by the second suspect.

The victim complied with their demands to fork over cash, and even wrote them prescriptions for drugs, but a physical altercation ensued.

The suspects hit him over the head with their handguns before fleeing the scene on foot.

The armed robbers are described as black males of unknown ages, one about 6'5" and the other about 5'10".

The victim was transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
