Carper proposes military-style assault weapons ban Senator Carper co-sponsors a bill that would ban military-style assault weapons. The legislation would prohibit the sale, transfer, importation, and manufacture of more than 150 military-style assault weapons- like the ones used in recent mass shootings. Carper, a gun owner himself, says these weapons were designed for battlefield and don't belong in Delaware neighborhoods. A similar call came from Attorney General Beau Biden, who called for this ban, in a joint press conference with Gvoernor Markell earlier this month. |
