VIDEO: Hens take second straight CAA game
Kyle Anderson hit four 3-pointers as Delaware used another hot-shooting outing to defeat William and Mary 66-56 Wednesday Night.
Coming off surviving a late rally to defeat Drexel Monday, the Blue Hens once again found themselves ahead by only 10 after a three-point shot by the Tribe's Marcus Thorton. Unlike Monday, Delaware was able to hit some free throws and picked up the defense stops to keep the outcome squarely in their court.
Delaware (10-11, 5-3 CAA) jumped out to an early 24-10 lead thanks to four inside baskets by Jamelle Hagins along with solid outside shooting by Devon Saddler and Kyle Anderson.
Despite going over six minutes without a basket late in the half, the Blue Hens held William and Marry to just six points, and still led 27-19 at halftime after the teams traded last minute threes.
Delaware finished 45 percent from the floor, while holding the Tribe (8-12, 2-7 CAA), the CAA's second best offense, to just 37.9 percent.
Saddler scored 19 points, Kyle Anderson added 16 points and 9 rebounds, while Hagins finished with 12 points. Delaware outrebounded the Tribe 43-31.
Delaware remains home to face UNC-Wilmington Saturday afternoon.
