VIDEO: Brandywine uses OT to upset A.I. duPont Brandywine bounced back from a rough end to regulation to upset A.I. duPont in overtime 65-60. The Bulldogs held a five point lead with under 20 seconds to go before Braxton Watson hit a three-pointer to cut the deficit to 50-48. Following a Brandywine free throw, Watson again dribbled the ball up the court, and hit a long-range shut to knot the game at 51 after 32 minutes. In the extra session Seth Hackett scored the opening basket for Brandywine, giving them a lead they would never relinquish. The Tigers managed to control the game for three and a half quarters until Brandywine took its first lead of the game with three minutes remaining. Anthony Jordan scored on a layup to put the Bulldogs up 44-42. Hackett and Jordan Johnson led the Bulldogs with 18 points while Jordan added 17 points. Watson led the Tigers with 16 points, Dakeem Fletcher-Seeney added 14 points, while Marqwon Wynn scored 11 points for A.I. duPont. Brandywine finishes 14-6 on the season, while the Tigers will be at Concord on Tuesday. |
