VIDEO: St. Mark's bounces back with a win against CR
After the defending state champions lost their second game of the season Wednesday night at Caravel, St. Mark's baseball team bounced back with a 2-0 home victory against Caesar Rodney (2-2).
The Spartans shined in the bottom of the fourth, after three scoreless innings.
With one out, Gilbert Peralta drilled the ball up the middle and stole second base. David Gibb reached base safely off of a Riders' error and Bradley Nowell followed with a walk.
The number two hitter, Brock Long stepped up to the plate with two outs and the bases loaded. The senior came through with a clutch 2RBI double to center.
That's all the Spartans (2-2) needed, as junior starting pitcher Matt Frost pitched a complete game allowing only two hits with seven strikeouts.
Caesar Rodney will travel up north for the third time this week, as they go head-to-head with Archmere on Saturday. St. Mark's will battle against Indian River on Saturday.
