UPDATE: Tree falls into monkey house at Brandywine Zoo

A tree fell into the monkey house at the Brandywine Zoo Friday, displacing several primates to zoos in nearby states.

DNREC says a large tree came crashing through the roof of the zoo's monkey house and also caused another wall to buckle.

As a result, all of the monkeys inside the house have been temporarily moved to New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

A spokesperson for the zoo says all of the animals rescued from the tree-damaged Monkey House are doing well.

No injuries to humans or primates were reported.

The Brandywine Zoo will reopen Sunday at 10 a.m.

The Zoo Camp is relocated to the Blue Ball Barn, at 1914 West Park Drive, Wilmington. Campers' families can call (302) 571-7788, extension 209 for further information.
