VIDEO: M.O.T. Juniors crowned State Champs

M.O.T. entered the Junior League title game Monday evening with a 6-1 edge against Naamans in the fifth inning.

The weather delay, however, didn't put a damper on M.O.T.'s offensive game, as the Middletown squad put up six more runs to clinch a 12-5 victory.

The State Champs head to Freehold Township, New Jersey this weekend to compete in the East Regional Tournament.

In the top of the sixth with bases loaded, M.O.T.'s Alexander Weber blasted a grand slam over the left field fence to extend the lead 12-1.

Down by eleven runs, Naamans battled in the bottom half of the inning.

Adam Reynolds led off with a double deep to the left field. Owen Linkhorst and John Andreoli made sure that the game went to seven innings, when they both contributed RBI singles. Tommy Steiner sent two more runs across the plate with a 2 RBI double down the left field line.

In the bottom of the seventh, M.O.T.'s closing pitcher Spencer Harbert was tested, but he showed his defensive skills. The lead off batter in the final inning, drilled a ball back to him that took him down to his feet, but he got the out at first.

The final Naamans batter popped out to Harbert and M.O.T. celebrated to become the Delaware Champions.

M.O.T.'s Weber and Vincent Green both led the team with three hits each, while Naamans' Reynolds and Andreoli tallied two hits a piece.
