Kent Co. SPCA may get dog control contract
The Kent County SPCA is a step closer to getting the county's dog control contract, following a decision by Kent County Levy Court.
County officials recently voted to not renew its deal with financially-troubled Safe Haven No-Kill Animal Shelter of Georgetown.
The county administrator also presented a proposal to have Kent County start and operate its own dog control program.
Levy Court commissioners Tuesday approved a tentative arrangement to turn over animal control operations to the Kent County SPCA as of October 1st.
A final vote on the deal may come at a meeting next Tuesday September 10th.
