VIDEO: Glasgow rallies for opening victory over Smyrna
Friday night was the first game of the season for Glasgow as they defeated Smyrna 20-15.
On the first play of the game Smyrna's Jamal Powell returned the opening kickoff all the way down the field only to fumble as he approached the end zone. The Eagles were fortunate as Trayvon Cannon scooped up the loose ball for the touchdown putting the Eagles ahead 7-0.
The Dragons would respond as Quarterback LaMont Brown rushed for a pair of touchdowns late in the first quarter. The Dragons would miss both 2-point conversions to go up 12-7. Smyrna's quarterback Avery McMullin then threw a bullet to Maurice McFolling-Nichols for a touchdown. The 2-point conversion would be good as the Eagles took a 15-12 lead going into halftime.
The second half would be all defense until late in the fourth. With only a minute left to go and facing a 4th and goal, Glasgow's LaMont Brown found wide receiver Jai C. Waylon for the go ahead score. Brown would run in the 2-point conversion himself as the Dragons went on to the 20-15 victory.
