VIDEO: Appoquinimink dominates St. Georges in boys varsity soccer
Appoquinimink's season started out strong Tuesday with a 4-0 victory over area rivalSt. Georges in boys soccer 4-0.
The Jaguars were in control from the opening minutes as Appo's offense and Yusef Basma took just under 20 minutes to score the first goal of the game, taking the pass from Sam Jester and putting it past the St. Georges goal keeper. The defenses of both would teams would hold strong for the rest of the first half as Appoquinimink went into halftime leading 1-0.
Appoquinimink's offense would come alive in the second half as forward Jackson Wines buried a couple of goals in the 15th and 21st minutes. The Hawks goalkeeper would make a handful of spectacular saves in this one, however, he found no help from his offense as they were out shot by the Jaguars. Appoquinimink forward Jaylen Dunham finished the scoring as Appoquinimink cruised to the win.
