VIDEO: CR wins shootout over Hodgson for first win

Caesar Rodney's Jordan Downes scored a seven-yard touchdown with just over six minutes left in the game to boost the Riders to a 41-34 home victory over Hodgson Friday night.

Hodgson claimed a 27-20 lead after running back Daniel Diggs and quarterback Raymond Jones both scored rushing touchdowns to open the second half scoring.

CR quarterback Alex Kemp connected with Dominique Dorsey on a 45-yard touchdown with a second remaining in the 3rd quarter to knot things at 27 going into the final frame.

Kendell Wicks then intercepted a pass for CR, and Kemp cashed in with a rushing touchdown to put the Riders ahead.

Once again Jones had the answer with a rushing touchdown for the Silver Eagles, making it 34-34 with just under 8:00 left, setting up the eventual game winning drive.

Hodgson made once last charge, but Rasheed Teasley intercepted his third pass of the game to preserve the victory for CR, who had lost their opening two games to Division I powers Salesianum and Middletown.
