Man knifed in early morning robbery in New Castle

A robbery and assault early Monday morning in New Castle remains under investigation.

Police say it happened on North DuPont Parkway near Memorial Drive at just after 1 a.m.

A 33-year-old man riding a bicycle was confronted by a man with a knife who demanded money.

Police say after the victim turned some over, the suspect stabbed him.

The robber took off and the injured man was taken to Christiana Hospital by private vehicle.

He remains at large.
