A Claymont home damaged in morning fire

The state Fire Marshal's office is investigating a Sunday morning fire in Claymont.

Shortly after midnight, a blaze occurred in the unit block of Second Avenue in Overlook Colony near Philadelphia Pike.

The Claymont Fire Company arrived on the scene with smoke pouring from the 2nd floor of the two-story home.

Heavy fire damaged was estimated at $100,000. Seven family members (4 adults and 3 children) have been displaced. The American Red Cross is assisting them with emergency aid.

The investigation is ongoing. No injuries were reported.
