DSCC chamber president exits post

After just nine months on the job, the head of the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce is out.

President and CEO Joan Verplanck has stepped down after a source within the chamber tells WDEL "it just didn't work out."

WDEL broke the news in January that Verplanck would be coming to Delaware from the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce, where she worked for more than a decade.

Rich Heffron, senior Vice President of Government Affairs, will be stepping in as interim president for the second time in recent history for the chamber.
