VIDEO: Salesianum's defense lifts the Sals to victory
Salesianum's basketball team held Concord to only two points in the second quarter. That proved to be the difference in a Saturday afternoon game, as the Sals beat the Raiders 50-33.
In the opening quarter, Concord held onto a slight lead until Donte DiVincenzo and Joe McCusker hit 3-pointers to help give the Sals a 17-11 edge.
In the second, Sallies outscored Concord 13-2. The Raiders' only bucket came in the final seconds of the first half with a Charles Morgan lay up.
At the end of the first half, Sallies led 30-13.
In the final two quarters, both Salesianum and Concord scored 20 points a piece.
Concord was led by Joe Coopers' 10 points.
DiVincenzo and Brian O'Neill were top scorers for Sallies each putting up 12 points. McCusker chipped in 11.
Sallies (15-2) is currently on a 6-game winning streak and doesn't play again until Valentine's Day, when they take on St. Mark's at 7:30 p.m.
Concord (13-5), with only two games remaining in the regular season, hosts Newark at 5:15 on Tuesday.
