Harrington man arrested in infant's murder
A Harrington man is arrested in connection with the death of an infant.
State Police say James Hammond faces a charge of murder by abuse after a seven-month-old baby girl died in his care.
Police say Hammond was watching the baby in late February while her parents were on vacation. That's when she allegedly fell out of her crib onto the floor. The baby wasn't taken to the hospital the next day, where she was pronounced dead. A medical examiner says the baby died by blunt force trauma to the head.
Police say Hammond turned himself into police Friday morning.
