Four Del. high schools selected for Slam Dunk tournament
Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) champion, Salesianum is among four teams that have committed to play in the new Slam Dunk to the Beach tournament.
The tournament, which is being played for the first time in a decade under new direction, will be played December 27th through December 29th at Cape Henlopen High School.
The other three Delaware schools that will be participating include DIAA runner-up St. Georges, Sanford, and Cape Henlopen. "It's a great opportunity to promote the state. It's a great opportunity to present high-level basketball for both the people in the state to come and watch, but also bringing in external visitors down into Sussex County during what is sometimes a down period," said DSC Chairman Dr. Matthew Robison.
The teams were announced at the Blue-Gold basketball banquet Thursday night in Dover.
More teams, including schools from around the country, will be announced in the summer.
