VIDEO: Ex-Miss Delaware keeping her scholarship money
The former Miss Delaware will get to her keep her scholarship money.
Elizabeth Souchek, legal counsel for the Miss Delaware Scholarship Organization confirms to WDEL that Amanda Longacre will be able to keep her $9,000 in scholarship money.
The decision came from the Miss America Organization, which says Longacre will still not be able to compete in the national competition.
Longacre was de-crowned Thursday after pageant officials said the 24-year-old was too old to compete.
Runner-up Brittany Lewis of Wilmington is now the new Miss Delaware. She was crowned Thursday night at Dover Downs. Lewis will also get the $9,000 in scholarship money.
